If a tree is located within a public County right-of-way, Leon County Public Works crews can inspect it. Trees may be removed if they pose a safety hazard or are dead or structurally compromised. To request an inspection, submit a service request through the Citizens Connect App, or call 850-606-1400. If the tree is on private property, removal is the property owner's responsibility.
Leon County Public Works removes deceased animals from public roads and rights-of-way for safety reasons. Animals located on private property must be handled by the property owner or a private removal service. If the animal is blocking a public roadway, submit a service request through the Citizens Connect App or call 850-606-1400.
Some County easements are located on private property. If you believe a tree is within a County easement and may pose a hazard, we can conduct an inspection. To request an inspection, submit a service request through the Citizens Connect App or call 850-606-1500.
Hand spraying is not available through Leon County Mosquito Control. If your property is inaccessible for truck spraying, you may consider hiring a licensed private pest control provider for targeted treatment and consider eliminating standing water around your home to reduce mosquito activity. For questions about mosquito services, visit the Leon County Mosquito Control webpage, or call 850-606-1400.
