He was elected to serve the citizens of Leon County in 2010, on a mission to bring diversity, increased transparency and community engagement, and work tirelessly to ensure Leon County’s most vulnerable citizens have adequate resources and are cared for. As a three-time Chairman of the Leon County Commission (2012-2013, 2017-2018 and 2022-2023), he has steered the region toward growth, unity, and progress. With a knack for building bridges between diverse groups, Nick has facilitated collaborative efforts to address critical issues, leaving no one behind. In 2019-2020, he also served as the President of the Florida Association of Counties. During the pandemic, he led with innovation and supported Florida's efforts to continue ensuring education, affordable housing and economic development.
Having been appointed in July of 2023 as the new CEO of Family Promise of the Big Bend, Nick Maddox is now at the helm of a transformative organization that addresses homelessness and housing with compassion and innovation.
