Seal / Expunge Process

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) provides a service through which certain criminal records can be expunged (removed from our records) or sealed (placed under highly restricted access).

For information regarding the seal and expunge process, you may access FDLE’s website at http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/cms/Seal-and-Expunge-Process/Seal-and-Expunge-Home.aspx.   You may also call 850-410-7870 if you need further assistance.

Some offenses are ineligible for sealing/expunction and there are reasons for denial.  For the reasons for denial or a list of disqualifying charges go to:  http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/cms/Seal-and-Expunge-Process/Reasons-for-Denial.aspx

You may also obtain additional information and forms from the Leon County Clerk of Court; you may access their website at https://cvweb.clerk.leon.fl.us/public/clerk_services/online_forms/criminal/adult_se.pdf.  This information is under the title of Expunge & Seal Forms.

You may also call 850-577-4000 if you need further assistance.
