Join us as we imagine a future where flourishing greenery, neighborly ingenuity, and sustainability power everyday life. Together, we'll transform the library into a beacon of sustainability and innovation as an EcoStation in the stars.

TechBracer

When: 10 to 11 a.m.
Audience: All ages

Make your own wearable tech bracer with leather and gears.

Keep Gardens Punk! Native Plants, Pollinators, and Solutions

When: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Audience: All ages

Join us for an engaging presentation by Native Nurseries as we explore the beauty and importance of native plants and the pollinators they support. Learn about the latest advancements in eco-friendly gardening and how today’s science is making pesticides, fungicides, and other garden treatments safer for the environment. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just getting started, you'll find inspiration and practical tips for creating a sustainable, harmonious garden in Florida.

Mechanical Hands

When: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Audience: All ages

Need an extra hand? Create a cardboard puppet hand to slip over your own as a cyborg creation.

Solarpunk Trivia

When: 12:15 to 1:15 p.m.
Audience: All ages

Earn prizes as an individual by answering questions about Solarpunk-related fiction!

Folded Possibilities: Origami Craft

When: 1 to 2 p.m.
Audience: All ages

Fold, crease, and create! Whether it's a rocket ship, a blooming flower, or a cool robotic face, dive into the fun of traditional origami and bring paper to life!

Cosplay Competition

When: 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Audience: Ages eight and older

The contest will include three age categories:

  • Youth (Ages 8-12)
  • Teen (Ages 13-18)
  • Adult (19+)

Each age category will have a first place, second place, and third place winner. Prizes include:

  • 1st place - $50 gift card
  • 2nd place - $25 gift card
  • 3rd place - $10 gift card

Costume creators younger than eight years old are invited to participate in our all-ages Costume Parade, taking place after the competition. 

Registration is required for the competition. Register to participate. Winners will be announced after the Costume Parade. 

Costume Parade

When: 2:15 to 2:30 p.m.
Audience: All ages

Dress your best for this festive costume parade of all things fandom, including superheroes, literary characters, and more! All ages are invited to show off their costumes.

All Day Events

Robo Hunt

When: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Audience: Kids

Find the Autobots hiding in the library before the Decepticons to win a prize!

EcoStation Emergency!

When: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Audience: All ages

Think you have what it takes to save the day? Join a high stakes scavenger hunt and race through the library solving puzzles to determine which parts are needed to fix the space station. Solve each clue, rebuild the station, and avert a catastrophic failure — but beware, not every part belongs!

Test your word-smithing prowess and fill in the blanks to create a story that's out of this world!

Swing by the Library’s Call Street parking lot during the event and treat yourself! Refresh with a shaved ice from Kona Ice or satisfy your appetite with mouthwatering comfort food from Big Whipp’s Kitchen.
