2024 Pathways To Removing Obstacles To Housing Grant

Notice is hereby given that Leon County will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 6 p.m., at the Office of Human Services and Community Partnerships located at 615 Paul Russell Road, Tallahassee, Florida, 32301 to receive public comments on a Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) Grant Application prior to submission for funding.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) Grant. The FY24 PRO Housing Grant will allocate $100 million for competitive funding for the identification and removal of barriers to affordable housing production and preservation. Barriers to affordable housing may include but are not limited to gaps in available resources for development, deteriorating or inadequate infrastructure, or challenges to preserving existing housing stock such as increasing threats from natural hazards, redevelopment that reduces the number of affordable units, or the expiration of affordability requirements. Grantees may use award funding to further develop, evaluate and implement housing policy plans, improve housing strategies, and facilitate affordable housing production and preservation.  In accordance with the requirements as established by HUD, a public hearing is required. The application deadline date is October 15, 2024.

Attendance may be in person or virtual (by computer or phone). Public comments may be submitted in person, online via the web, and/or by attending the meeting by computer or phone virtually using the links and instructions below.
