Leon County Goes Pink for October

October is Breast Cancer Awarness Month

Leon County coordinates the following activities for Breast Cancer Awarness each October:

  • Make pink lapel ribbons available during the October Board meeting and Board workshops;
  • Publish October’s County LINK in pink, recognizing the month;
  • Leon County EMS paramedics and EMTs will use pink gloves, stethoscopes, scissors, and sheets on calls throughout the month;
  • Display breast cancer awareness books and materials at select Leon County library locations; and
  • Update the Leon County website and social media pages with the pink County seal and logos.

Also, on the third Friday of October—Go Pink Day, part of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare’s (TMH) month-long Go Pink campaign—the Courthouse will be illuminated in pink. Go Pink Day invites individuals and organizations to wear pink, “pink out” the town, and participate in awareness-raising activities to show their support.
