NEW! Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Site

Leon County recently opened an additional Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off site that accepts limited items for your convenience. Citizens are encouraged to access the new site when staff is monitoring from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. As the first-of-its-kind, the site hours will be updated over time to reflect usage trends.

What is Accepted at the Drop-Off Site:

Oil: In containers only
  • Used Automotive
  • Cooking Oil
Household Hazardous Waste
  • Household Chemicals
  • Paints
  • Lightbulbs, Fluorescents 4ft maximum
  • Batteries
  • Antifreeze: In containers only
Small Electronics
  • Computers
  • Laptops
  • Small TV’s (32" maximum)

What is not accepted:

  • Flammables ( Fuel, Paint thinners, etc.)
  • Televisions larger than 32"
  • No Appliances (refrigerator, microwaves, etc)
  • No Tools
  • No Pills
  • No Meds
  • No Biohazardous Waste
  • No Tires
  • No Ammo

Drums and Pallets:  We use specific types of drums and pallets to safely ship hazardous waste and electronics. These are supplies that we either buy or are provided by our vendors for use, so neither is available to the public for use.
