To further enhance the program, Leon County expanded program eligibility to include all Leon County high school juniors and seniors who attend a public, charter, private or Leon County Schools virtual school.
Since 2017, the program has placed students in many different positions to build valuable workplace skills and earn hourly wages.

Students within the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WOIA) qualifications are highly encouraged to apply.
The Leon Works Junior Apprenticeship Program helps prepare youth for well-paying job opportunities in the future. By the year 2026, more than 70,000 skilled jobs are projected to be available in Leon County. To meet the needs of growing job sectors, Leon County aims to achieve the strategic goal of connecting 7,000 students to middle-skilled careers that require more than a high school diploma but less than a four-year degree. The Junior Apprentice Program is one of many ways Leon County is preparing to meet the needs of the future and connecting promising young adults with local job opportunities.
Apply for the Fall 2023 Leon County Junior Apprenticeship Program by Friday, March 31 at LeonCountyFL.gov/JRApprentice.
