Old Plank Road Replacement Project to Enhance Public Safety
Starting Monday, August 25, 2025, Leon County Government will commence the Old Plank Road at Chicken Branch Culvert Replacement Project, with work requiring a road closure starting on Tuesday, September 2. The road closure of Old Plank Road near Chicken Branch Culvert, starting Tuesday, September 2, will last for approximately 45 days, weather permitting, as Leon County begins critical stormwater improvements to reduce the risk of flooding and enhance safety. Daily work hours will take place Monday through Saturday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Southbound traffic toward Old Plank Road will be detoured west onto Tram Road then west onto Capital Circle SE then south onto Woodville Highway then east onto Natural Bridge Road to Old Plank Road. Northbound traffic on Old Plank Road will be detoured west onto Natural Bridge Road then north onto Woodville Highway then east onto Capital Circle SE then east onto Tram Road to Old Plank Road.
