Creating An Account: An account can be created on-line click here or by visiting your Waste Center. In the future your Driver's License will serve as your user card to gain entry to the Center. Multiple Licenses can be attached to a single account/household, however each license holder will need to be linked to the primary account during registration.
Account Payment: Your user account will need to be pre-paid for flat fee ($10 a month) users and is recommended for pay-per-use. Three forms of payment are accepted, credit card, cash or check. Due to safety of handling cash/checks, only credit cards will be accepted onsite at your Rural Waste Center:

The centers are located at the following locations:
Rural Waste Service Centers are designated places for residents living in unincorporated Leon County to drop off their garbage and recycling. From there, the garbage is transported to the Leon County Transfer Station.
Waste Items Accepted
Waste Items NOT Accepted
Household Garbage-such as kitchen waste. Up to one level pickup truck load or equivalent.
Yard Waste-such as leaves, grass clippings and tree limbs. Up to one level pickup truck load or equivalent.
Small Household Items-such as old toys. Up to one level pickup truck load or equivalent.
White Goods and Bulky Items-such as refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, washers, dryers, window a/c units, furniture, mattresses (2 white goods or bulky items per trip).
Up to 4 tires are accepted
LIMITED household hazardous waste: call 606-1803 for information about disposal of used motor oil, paints, fuels, solvents, pesticides, corrosives, etc.
No Commercial Waste-such as those from lawn services, tree trimmers, appliance repair shops, building contractors, or automotive shops
No roofing materials, concrete rubble, automotive parts, or lawnmowers.
No medical wastes (sharps or medicines).
