Leon County Public Library App Update

The Leon County Public Library’s app has been unexpectedly discontinued by the service provider. As a result, most functions on the app will be unavailable for the foreseeable future. For some users, the app may open but the catalog search, library card barcode, and account information, including holds and checkouts, are unavailable or inaccurate. Additionally, hours and locations may appear, but since the app cannot connect to our servers, the hours displayed may be incorrect.

In response to the outage, the Leon County Public Library immediately made an announcement on its social media channels and met with the CEO of SirsiDynix, the service provider, to receive a timeline for restoration, seek alternative solutions to the outage, and explore the possibility of sending a notification in the app. When it became clear the outage would continue for the foreseeable future, the library began exploring opportunities to ensure library resources are available online in a mobile friendly format.

We know that the loss of the app is frustrating for the many people who use it regularly, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. At this time, we recommend users delete the app from their devices.

Library card holders can continue to access their accounts and search the catalog 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the library website. Users can click on the “My Account” option in the very top menu to log into an account. For card holders visiting in person, please bring a physical library card or photo ID to check out library items. If additional assistance is needed, please give us a call at (850) 606-2665.

For the most up-to-date information about the outage as well as details about upcoming library programs and services, follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
