Countdown at Cascades

Celebrate the grand finale of Tallahassee-Leon County's Bicentennial and mark Leon County's 200th birthday as we ring in 2025 at “Countdown at Cascades,” a free, family-friendly New Year's Eve celebration. Enjoy live music, food trucks, and two dazzling fireworks displays. Local favorite Lili Forbes and her high-energy 15-piece band will kick off the evening, followed by soulful Southern rockers J & The Causeways. Fireworks light up the sky at 8 p.m. and again at 10 p.m.

Leon County Adopt-A-Tree Program
For more than 30 years, Leon County Government has proudly supported our native ecosystem through the Adopt-A-Tree Program, which provides unincorporated County residents the opportunity to have a tree planted on their property for free. This year, the program will offer three tree varieties to choose from: Eastern Redbud, Riverbirch, and Shumard Oak.

County Supports Family Legacies with Land Use Policies
Considering subdividing your property for family heirs? Leon County offers specific policies that make it easier to create family heir subdivisions, allowing you to pass down property to direct relatives for homestead use, even if density rules would normally prevent it.
