Leon County to Host Summit to Highlight 32304 Services, Resources
Leon County Government invites media partners to the 32304 Summit: Moving Forward Together, a community-focused event highlighting valuable programs, services and resources strengthening the 32304 community. The summit will take place on Tuesday, March 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at New Mt. Zion AME Church, 1401 Old Bainbridge Rd.
The event will feature panel discussions centered on advancing the 32304 community in the areas of human services (including food access and childcare), healthcare, workforce development and education, and housing. Information about available resources and coordinated efforts supporting residents of the 32304 community will also be shared. The summit responds to a comprehensive review of community conditions data in the 32304 area, including indicators for poverty, housing, healthcare access, and educational attainment.
The summit builds upon the County’s ongoing commitment to partnering with residents and community organizations to strengthen neighborhoods and expand opportunity. For instance, over the past five years Leon County has invested more than $34 million in human services programs, healthcare, housing, and economic development to improve the lives of residents. Further, the County’s investments in housing have leveraged $195 million in bond financing through the Housing Finance Authority to develop 1,200 affordable rental housing units.
The event is free and open to the public. For ADA accommodations or language assistance, contact (850) 606-1900 at least 48 hours in advance.
