Message from Library Director Pamela Monroe
Hi Friends,
As we reflect on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for your unwavering support and engagement with the LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System.
2024 has truly demonstrated the power of a passionate community and a thriving library system. From fostering lifelong learning to hosting events and providing essential services, the library has remained a cornerstone of growth and connection for Leon County. Your visits, participation, and enthusiasm have turned our mission into a vibrant reality.
Here are five key highlights from our library’s accomplishments this year:
- Garnered 779,004 visits to our updated website since its refresh in March, a remarkable increase from the previous year.
- Celebrated the Tallahassee-Leon County Bicentennial by giving out more than 6,000Â special-edition library cards.
- Increased our physical and digital materials for checkout from around 3.5 million to 3.8 million items, adding 10,000 more print materials.
- Held more than 500 adult literacy programs, with more than 1,800 in attendance.
- Launched several new resources for patrons, including the Mango Languages app, tablets preloaded with library apps, and Sensory Kits.
We thank you for making 2024 a year to remember and look forward to serving you with even greater dedication in 2025. Here’s to another year of discovery, inspiration, and community!
Amazing things are happening,
Pamela Monroe, Library Director
