County Invites Residents to Become a Master Recycler

Leon County Government invites residents to participate in a free, interactive Master Recycler training on Saturday, February 22, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the UF/IFAS Leon County Extension, 615 Paul Russell Road. This engaging recycling seminar hosted by the Leon County Office of Sustainability will provide attendees with insight on local recycling best practices and waste reduction solutions. During the training, participants will engage in hands-on learning activities while connecting with fellow community members. The program will include three sessions:
- Waste Reduction Strategies
- Understanding Leon County Waste Systems
- How to Avoid “Wish-cycling”
Each participant will receive a personalized Master Recycler Certificate following the training. The day will conclude with a Q&A session with local Sustainability professionals.
The Master Recycler Program empowers Leon County residents to reduce waste, recycle effectively, and become leaders in their community. Through hands-on learning and local insights, participants will gain the skills and knowledge to guide others in creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable community.
