County Continues to Offer Water for Residents Affected by Water Main Break
Leon County Government continues to provide cases of water to affected customers under a Precautionary Boil Water Notice in southern Leon County.
The City of Tallahassee issued a Precautionary Boil Water Notice on Sunday, August 17, for all City water customers south of Cemetery Road, including Woodville, Woodville Acres, River Plantation, Wakulla Station, and the City of St. Marks. The notice was issued after repairs and a loss of water pressure in the area. Read the notice HERE.
Continuing Sunday’s operation, the County will distribute cases of water today, Monday, August 18, from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Leon County J. Lewis Hall Sr. (Woodville) Park, 1492 J. Lewis Hall Sr. Ln, Tallahassee, FL 32305. This will be a drive-through site, and staff will place two (2) cases per car while supplies last. Please clear space in your trunk or back seat.
During the advisory, health officials advise affected customers to boil tap water for a rolling boil of one (1) minute before drinking, making ice, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing dishes. The advisory remains in effect until bacteriological testing shows the water is safe; the City will notify customers when it’s lifted.
