To Navigate Vaccine Locations, County Launches “Vax Map”
As the State of Florida continues to broaden COVID-19 vaccine eligibility, today Leon County Government launches an online map to help citizens navigate the community’s different vaccine locations. Called the Leon County Vax Map, the one-stop resource offers a list of sites with sign-up instructions, a browsable map and an address searchable database to find the locations nearest you. The map also features COVID-19 testing locations, both permanent operations and pop-up events.
Please note that while the County’s vaccine map will allow users to find a site, every location has its own sign up process and other details. Information on how to access each site’s specific process is available on Leon County’s Vax Map. Generally, sites require appointments before vaccinating.
By order of the Governor, beginning today all providers may administer COVID-19 vaccines to the following populations:
- Long-term care facility residents and staff;
- Persons 40 years of age and older;
- Health care personnel with direct patient contact; and
- Individuals determined by a physician to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19.
Effective Monday, April 5, all Floridians shall be eligible to receive any COVID-19 vaccine as prescribed by the Food and Drug Administration. For more specific details on the State of Florida’s vaccine eligibility and other COVID-19 details, visit the Florida Department of Health’s website or call 866.779.6121.
