Temporary Road Closure of Old Bainbridge Road from High Road to Stone Road
Old Bainbridge Road will experience a temporary road closure between High Road and Stone Road as part of the City of Tallahassee Water Main Replacement Project through late May 2026, pending no unforeseen circumstances. The project bounds run from Tharpe Street to Stone Road and from Cottage Grove Road to Swatts Road. This closure represents the next phase of construction following the reopening of Old Bainbridge Road between Tharpe Street and High Road.
Northbound traffic will be detoured west onto High Road then west onto Hartsfield Road then north onto Mission Road then east onto Fred George Road to Old Bainbridge Road. Southbound traffic will be detoured east onto Pullen Road then south onto N. Monroe Street then west onto Tharpe Street to Old Bainbridge Road.
Weather conditions such as heavy rain, severe storms, extreme heat, and freezing temperatures can affect construction schedules on County roads. Unforeseen site conditions, utility conflicts, or supply chain issues may also cause delays. When delays occur, project teams work to resume operations as quickly and safely as possible.
