Spring Home Expo Helps to Create Sustainable and Resilient Homes

WHEN: Saturday, April 13, 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

WHERE: Leon County Cooperative Extension, 615 Paul Russell Rd.

Leon County invites current and future homeowners to the Spring Home Expo Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Leon County Cooperative Extension, 615 Paul Russell Rd.

Local vendors and experts will provide resources and give presentations on a variety of topics like first time homebuyer programs, inherited property management, best practices for energy efficiency, home gardening instruction and sustainable living techniques. Local real estate and home loan experts will be on hand to provide resources for down payment assistance and home insurance. Attendees will also get the tools they need to prepare for the next disaster by learning how to Build-A-Bucket of storm supplies.

Attendees will also be invited to explore the Cooperative Extension building’s many sustainability features, which include solar panels, rainwater cisterns and a geothermal unit.
