POSTPONED: Sustainable Communities Summit Continues with Lake Carr Invasives Shoreline Cleanup
Due to Leon County’s focus on disaster recovery, the Lake Carr Invasives Shoreline Cleanup, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 28, has been postponed. Stay updated on the new date by checking out the County’s Sustainable Communities Summit Series webpage at LeonCountyFL.gov/Summit, or following the County’s social media pages.
Â
This cleanup, as a part of Leon County’s 2024 Sustainable Communities Summit Series, offers a unique opportunity for community members to engage in environmental stewardship, get educated on local invasive species, and contribute to the health of Lake Carr. It also aligns with the County's ongoing commitment to litter reduction and beautification initiatives under the Integrated Sustainability Action Plan.
Â
Since 2015, Leon County has hosted Sustainable Communities Summit to offer a space for citizens to come together, explore the latest innovations, and celebrate the collective achievements of the sustainability community. This year’s event sessions were structured to foster community dialogue on local and personal sustainability while connecting citizens with local sustainable resources.
