Notice is hereby given that the Leon County Board of County Commissioners will conduct a special meeting on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the County Commission Chambers, 5th Floor, at the Judge Augustus D. Aikens, Jr., Leon County Courthouse, located at 301 S. Monroe Street. The Jail Management System will be the topic of discussion.
Leon County will broadcast the meeting on Comcast channel 16, the Leon County Florida Channel on Roku, the County’s Facebook page, YouTube channel, and the County’s website.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 286.26, Florida Statutes, persons needing a special accommodation to participate in this proceeding should contact Community and Media Relations at Leon County Courthouse, 301 South Monroe Street, or CMR@LeonCountyFL.gov, by written request at least 48 hours prior to the proceeding. Citizens wishing to provide virtual comment must register by 8 p.m. on the day before the meeting to provide County staff sufficient time to provide instructions to citizens for comment during the meeting. Anyone needing assistance with registration may contact County Administration at 850-606-5300 during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please be advised that if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board of County Commissioners with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, such person will need a record of these proceedings; and, for this purpose, such person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record indicates the testimony, and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. The Board of County Commissioners does not provide or prepare such a record. See Section 286.0105, F. S.
