Navigating Post-Hurricane Recovery

Navigating Post-Hurricane Recovery
Nearly 200 Citizens Assisted in Person, Over the Phone, and Online

Over the weekend, County and City staff members helped 190 citizens find community resources following Hurricane Hermine. To help citizens navigate the post-hurricane recovery process, staff will continue to answer general service, insurance and recovery questions at 850-606-1322 / StormRecovery@leoncountyfl.gov .

For 24-hour social services assistance, citizens are encouraged to call 2-1-1 or (850) 617-6333.

Staff will provide information about community resources and help direct residents to agencies that can assist them. While staff will be able to provide generic insurance claim information, reports will not be taken via the hotline or recovery email. Residents will need to contact their individual insurance agents for information specific to their policies and coverage.

A list of community resources is available on Talgov.com/Hermine and LeonCountyFL.gov/ei.

Update on Debris Removal

For residential and business solid waste service in the wake of Hurricane Hermine, Leon County, the City of Tallahassee and the State of Florida will pick up and dispose of yard waste, demolition debris and other materials. Citizens in the city limits and the unincorporated area will be serviced within two weeks. Debris and yard waste should not be bagged, only placed near the curb for pick up. For additional details on debris removal, please visit Talgov.com or http://cms.leoncountyfl.gov/ei/cleanup.asp.
