Leon County’s Maggie Theriot Recognized for Service to Community

Leon County Government's Maggie Theriot will be honored by Tallahassee Community College during Women's History Month in March. This year's theme is "Working to Form a More Perfect Union: Honoring Women in Public Service and Government." The Honoree ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Tallahassee Community College.

"When you think of public service professionalism, Maggie is the first person to come to mind," said Leon County Administrator Vincent S. Long. "For years she has demonstrated unique leadership on critical County efforts and programs across many different County departments. And most importantly, she's been a mentor to so many in and out of government."

Theriot has built experience in Leon County Government through several different positions from the budget office to facilities maintenance to leading the Office of Resource Stewardship. During Maggie’s tenure, she launched the County’s Office of Sustainability and positioned the County to be a leader, not only locally, but also nationally through the County’s Sustainability Summit and PACE initiatives.

Today, Theriot is the Assistant to the County Administrator for Organization and Citizen Solutions, a position that provides leadership and coordination to many of the County’s internal continuous organizational improvement processes, as well as to provide a coordinated focus to a wide array of constituent issues.

"It's an honor to be recognized for my leadership and hard work, but I need to thank all those I've worked with on big projects," said Theriot. "As public servants, we do our best work together on teams alongside fellow employees and citizens. As a Tallahassee Community College alumnus I am proud to be a part of a recognition to help highlight the contributions of women who serve our community."
