As part of its ongoing commitment to building a #HurricaneStrong community, Leon County invites media partners to its highly anticipated Citizen Engagement Series session on Thursday, July 25, at 6 p.m. at the Public Safety Complex, 911 Easterwood Drive. At the event, citizens will engage with and learn from public safety experts across the county.
The upcoming session, “Citizen Engagement Series: Disaster Resilience Edition,” aims to build community preparedness and resilience against man-made and natural disasters. Leon County will convene preparedness experts, public safety officials, non-profit partners, and other community leaders to discuss various topics, such as disaster preparedness, who to call in an emergency, and the importance of having a plan for your home.
This interactive, hands-on event puts disaster preparedness front and center as the 2024 hurricane season is officially underway. Created in 2012, Leon County’s award-winning Citizen Engagement Series aims to engage citizens in new and innovative ways about County programs and services.
