Leon County Government invites media partners to attend a Homeownership Development Housewarming Ceremony on Tuesday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at 1396 Dawson Road. This significant event will welcome a local resident to their new home, developed with State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funds through the Leon County Division of Housing Services’ Homeownership Development Program.
During the ceremony, the homeowner will participate in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and receive housewarming gifts. The Homeownership Development Program is designed to provide funding to for-profit and not-for-profit organizations for the development of homes for low-income, first-time homebuyers. The program is one of Leon County’s strategies to grow the inventory of affordable housing in Leon County.Â
Following the ceremony, media will have the opportunity to speak with the homeowner and Leon County officials.
The Leon County Division of Housing Services is committed to providing safe, sanitary, and affordable housing to low-income residents in the unincorporated areas of Leon County. The Division of Housing Services reviews applications, verifies applicant eligibility, and ensures compliance with the SHIP program and other related programs.
