Leon County to Host Family Health Literacy Fair at Main Library

Join Leon County Government and community partners for the Family Health Literacy Fair on Saturday, January 28 from 1-3 p.m. at the downtown Leon County Main Library, 200 West Park Avenue, rescheduled from our previous date in October due to Hurricane Ian. The Family Health Literacy Fair will feature more than 15 local health and safety organizations sharing information about resources and services offered to the community that are focused on physical and mental health and well-being.
During the event, individuals and families can attend a yoga demonstration and receive free dental, blood pressure, and body mass index (BMI) screenings. Leon County’s hurricane preparedness mascot, Billy the Bucket, will also share disaster preparedness tips for the whole family, including pets.
The event will feature local health and safety organizations, including:
- 211 Big Bend
- ACE Home Health Certified Nursing Assistants Program
- American Red Cross Capital Area Chapter
- Big Bend Area Health Education Center (Big Bend AHEC)
- Bond Community Health Center
- Florida Department of Children and Families
- Florida Department of Health in Leon County
- Neighborhood Medical Center
- Tallahassee Fire Department
- Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Animal Therapy
- Tallahassee Senior Center
- The Molar Express
Attendees can receive a free health literacy bag with a mini first aid kit while supplies last.
