Leon County Solid Waste Service Collection Schedule Adjusted Following Hurricane Helene
Following Hurricane Helene, Leon County will adjust its solid waste service collection schedule to further support the needs of our community. On Thursday, September 26, and Friday, September 27, Leon County suspended solid waste collection to prioritize public safety in anticipation of Helene. Now the schedule will be adjusted to help return the service schedule to normal and service those who were delayed.
The adjusted collection schedule is as follows:
- Thursday customers: Service will take place on Monday, September 30
- Friday customers: Service will take place on Tuesday, October 1
- Monday customers: Service will take place on Wednesday, October 2
- Tuesday customers: Service will take place on Thursday, October 3
- Wednesday customers: Service will take place on Friday, October 4
- Thursday customers: Service will take place on Saturday, October 5
- Friday customers: Service will take place on Sunday, October 6
Place garbage and recycling bins, yard debris, and bulk items at the curb no later than 6 a.m. on your collection day.
Additionally, the County’s Rural Waste Service Centers have expanded hours to the following until further notice to support all County citizens with yard debris and waste collection free-of-charge during ongoing disaster recovery efforts:
- Saturday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
 Residents can visit one of the following Leon County Rural Waste Service Centers:
- Woodville, 549 Henry Jones Road
- Fort Braden, 2485 East Joe Thomas Road
- Miccosukee, 13051 Miccosukee Road
- Solid Waste Facility, 7550 Apalachee Parkway (Mon - Fri 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sat - Sun 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
