Summer 2024

Message from Library Director Pamela Monroe

Hi Friends,

This summer, I'm turning my newsletter message over to Sally Mason, Learning & Workforce Services Manager, who is organizing our eagerly anticipated summer reading program. Read on for details about the exciting programs happening throughout June and July:

Put your adventure hats on and get ready for our Adventure Begins at Your Library summer reading program! The excitement has begun with fun and exploration for all ages.

  • Our youth participants will discover a vibrant world of music, art, and science. Expect a journey through global sounds, the art of weaving, up-close animal encounters, and a chance to ignite curiosity with engaging crafts and experiments.
  • Teens will taste and learn about different sweet and savory snacks from around the world, battle for their favorite books with our literature-themed laser tag, let imagination soar with character creation workshops, and unleash creativity with different craft and art sessions.
  • Adults will have the opportunity to explore birdwatching, learn about underwater archaeology and Florida's sunken ships, move to the rhythm in dance classes, and gain insights into Florida history through discussions and presentations on a range of topics including film, music, and hurricanes.

I encourage you to visit our Summer Reading webpage for a complete list of events, sign up for the reading challenge, and transform the library into your ultimate summer adventure destination.

Have an amazing summer!
Sally Mason, Learning & Workforce Services Manager
