Message from Library Director Pamela Monroe
Hi Friends,
TeenTober is a nationwide celebration held by libraries every October that is designed to honor teens and highlight teen programs, including STEM activities, gaming tournaments, and creative workshops. It is an initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) to showcase the many ways libraries support teens in learning new skills and pursuing their passions.
The Leon County Public Library offers teen programming year-round at all locations, so be sure to check out our teen events. The library also provides a variety of resources for teens, including homework and research assistance, reading recommendations, and opportunities to get involved—like joining the Teen Advisory Board.
Are you ready to trade the passenger seat for the driver’s seat? Buckle up and check out Driving Test, the library’s free service that offers practice tests, simulators, and access to the Florida Driver’s Handbook.
TeenTober empowers teens to explore new hobbies, meet friends, and build future-ready skills, such as creativity and problem-solving. We hope to see you at the library this month (and every month)!
Amazing things are happening!
Pamela Monroe, Library Director
