Visitor Information Center Grand Opening

Don’t miss the grand opening of Leon County’s Visitor Information Center, the new hub for visitor services and County Tourism (Visit Tallahassee). Located in the newly renovated historic Seaboard Freight Station, the center is dynamically positioned between businesses, hotels, campuses, and venues to serve visitors of all sorts.

Press the Chest

The annual Press the Chest community CPR training event is back on Saturday, June 3! Hosted by Leon County EMS, people of all ages are invited to learn the lifesaving skills of adult hands-only CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child choking relief, and AED awareness. Each participant will receive an American Heart Association CPR Anytime Kit containing a CPR manikin, DVD, and educational materials. Participants can take these personal CPR kits home to train family and friends.

Emancipation Day: Where Do We Go From Here?

Join Leon County Government for an engaging and interactive discussion about Florida Emancipation Day, which is recognized each year on May 20. The lecture will feature a panel of local professors and historians in conversation about how Florida Emancipation Day was celebrated in the past and how Leon County citizens can remember and celebrate this historic day now and in the future.

Fertilizer Rain Delay Continues in May

The Fertilizer Rain Delay campaign reminds homeowners and professional fertilizer applicators not to apply fertilizer for at least one day ahead of forecasted heavy rain (1 inch or more in 24 hours). Check Leon County social media pages for a reminder to refrain from fertilizing whenever there is heavy rain in the forecast.
