Bicentennial New Year’s Eve Countdown Downtown

Sunday, December 31, from 6-10 p.m.

Adderley Amphitheater at Cascades Park

Join Tallahassee Downtown for the best party in 200 years! Ring in the Tallahassee-Leon County Bicentennial year with a showcase of talent and culture. This free event will feature live music, two explosive firework shows, food trucks, dancers, feats of strength, and local vendors who will have something for every New Year’s resolution. Bring your friends, blankets, food and beverages - or find them all on-site. This event will take place from 6-10 p.m. at Cascades Park in the Adderley Amphitheater in partnership with Leon County Division of Tourism/Visit Tallahassee, City of Tallahassee, AARP, Hotel Indigo, and more.

Leon County Adopt-A-Tree Program

For more than 30 years, Leon County Government has proudly supported our native ecosystem through the Adopt-A-Tree Program, which provides County residents the opportunity to have a tree planted on their property for free. With a goal of planting 200 trees in honor of the Tallahassee-Leon County Bicentennial in 2024, Leon County is encouraging residents to be a part of this green endeavor.

Apply to have a tree planted on your property by January 31, 2024, at LeonCountyFL.gov/AdoptATree.

2023 Florida High School Athletic Association Football State Championships

Leon County will welcome the 2023 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Football State Championships from December 7-9 at FAMU’s Bragg Memorial Stadium. This year's championship event will be historic as it is the first time the FHSAA will host the nine team classifications all in a single location and the first time the entire championships will be hosted at a Historically Black College.

No appointment required.
