Leon County Launches Residential PACE Financing with Renovate America
A New Public-Private Partnership Option for Energy and Storm Protection Home Improvements
WHO: Leon County
WHAT: Launch of PACE Financing with Renovate America
WHEN: Tuesday, August 8, 10 a.m.
WHERE: Leon County Cooperative Extension, 615 Paul Russell Road
On Tuesday, August 8, Leon County will announce the launch of the residential Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) public-private partnership with Renovate America and the Florida Development Finance Corporation (FDFC). PACE financing allows homeowners to make residential energy efficiency, solar and wind resistance improvements while paying for upgrades over time through their property tax bill. Leon County is one of the first to launch the program in Florida with FDFC and Renovate America, one of the largest providers of PACE home improvement financing in the nation.
The event will be held at 10 a.m. at Leon County Cooperative Extension, 615 Paul Russell Road. Also known as the Leon County Sustainable Demonstration Center, the facility is a net-zero building – a designation for sites that produce renewable energy at a rate equal to or greater than the building’s total annual energy consumption.
The introduction of PACE financing demonstrates Leon County's ongoing commitment to protecting the community’s natural resources through innovative methods. By partnering with Renovate America, residents will have a new way to go solar, protect their families from storms, or replace a broken HVAC with an energy efficient upgrade. The public-private partnership is also helping grow the entire home improvement industry by giving new financing options to contractors and vendors across Leon County.
