Leon County Launches “Beyond Your Block” Summer Promotion
Encouraging Residents to Explore Local Attractions All Around Town

Leon County Government proudly launches its “Beyond Your Block” summer promotion, a new multi-week campaign designed to inspire residents to explore all corners of the community and discover the rich variety Leon County has to offer. Running through August 24, 2025, the promotion features local businesses and attractions, including restaurants, breweries, shops, museums, parks, and events.

Through an interactive challenge on the Visit Tallahassee mobile app, the campaign encourages residents to experience different parts of town, support the local economy during the summer season, and become tourism ambassadors of our community for visitors.

By visiting these different “blocks” and tracking their progress through the Visit Tallahassee mobile app, participants will be entered into a prize giveaway.  Entries will be earned by visiting different areas of Leon County and checking in at designated locations. Those who check in at two or more locations per “block” will be awarded a "Beyond Your Block" T-shirt.  Every location visited also counts as an entry into the grand prize sweepstakes.  At the end of the campaign, a grand prize winner will receive a two-night Tallahassee-Leon County stay-cation complete with hotel accommodations, dining, and exciting local activities.

Throughout the six-week program, the Leon County Division of Tourism will host multiple on-site promotions at various partner locations, offering a chance to win prizes and providing information about businesses and attractions throughout Leon County. These events aim to draw residents to areas of Tallahassee they might not typically visit and encourage them to explore new sights, sounds and tastes.

Research from the County’s Division of Tourism consistently demonstrates that approximately 30% of visitors to Tallahassee are here to see friends or family. When residents explore all areas of their own hometown and share their favorite spots with visitors, it helps organically promote the destination while supporting local businesses. Locals make the best ambassadors for our community!

By taking part in “Beyond Your Block,” residents will not only enjoy discovering something new but also make a meaningful impact by supporting locally owned businesses and attractions. Every visit, meal, purchase, and social media post helps build a strong local economy, show community pride, and keep Tallahassee-Leon County thriving year-round.  Learn more about the program here: VisitTallahassee.com/Beyond-Your-Block.

To participate, download the free Visit Tallahassee mobile app. Click the “Challenges” tab to start exploring new businesses and checking in at participating locations to earn entries, unlock rewards, and experience the unique character of your hometown all summer long.
