Leon County Invites Community to Submit Artwork for Exhibition Celebrating Neurodiversity

WHAT:  “Artists and Autism: A Kaleidoscope of Neurodiversity” Exhibition Call for Artists
WHEN:  Submissions due by Tuesday, February 28 at 11:59 p.m. EST
WHERE:  Register online to participate.

Leon County Government invites residents of all ages and abilities to submit artwork for an upcoming exhibition titled “Artists and Autism: A Kaleidoscope of Neurodiversity.” Artwork will be displayed at the Leon County Main Library as well as the Able Artists Gallery and Obsessions Gift Shop located in the Railroad Square Art District throughout the month of April in celebration of National Autism Acceptance Month. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, February 28 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
 
For more information and to submit artwork for consideration, visit LeonCountyFL.gov/Celebration. Citizens may visit any library branch location for assistance with their online application.
  
An exhibit opening celebration will be held on Saturday, April 1 from 1-3 p.m. at the downtown Leon County Main Library. The celebration will continue on Friday, April 7 during First Friday at Railroad Square with the opening of exhibits at Able Artists Gallery and Obsessions Gift Shop.

The exhibition is in partnership with the FSU Autism Institute and Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (FSU CARD), Able Artists Gallery, Arts4All Florida, and Obsessions Gift Shop.
 
National Autism Acceptance Month is recognized every April to spread awareness, promote acceptance, and ignite change. Leon County Government will host events throughout the month as well as reading lists, book displays, and crafts.
