WHO: Leon County
WHAT: Seventh Annual Leon County EMS Safety Fair
WHEN: Saturday, April 23, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHERE: Governor's Square Mall, 1500 Apalachee Parkway
Leon County Emergency Medical Services (LCEMS) will host its Seventh Annual Safety Fair at the Governor’s Square Mall, 1500 Apalachee Parkway, near the J.C. Penney parking lot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This fun-filled event will feature free exhibits and activities to help educate children and families on bicycle safety, including a bicycle rodeo, a bike helmet giveaway and CPR demonstrations.
Experts from LCEMS will host a child safety seat checkpoint. Parents and guardians can have car seats inspected and also receive hands-on instructions from an LCEMS certified car-seat technician.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with first responders and explore their vehicles. Other presentations and activities citizens can enjoy include first aid demonstrations, thank-a-veteran letter writing booth, and other educational activities.
Face painting will also be on site, and an appearance by Leon Lifesaver – a small robotic ambulance – will teach children about 9-1-1 use and stranger danger.
