Leon County Announces Temporary Closure of Greenway Trailheads

WHO:             Leon County

WHAT:            Temporary closure of J.R. Alford and Miccosukee Greenway trailheads

WHEN:           Thursday, June 7, 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.

WHERE:         J.R. Alford Greenway, 2500 Pedrick Road and Miccosukee Greenway, 5600 Miccosukee Road, which includes Fleischman, Edenfield, Thornton, and Crump Road Trailheads

If weather permits, on Thursday, June 7 Leon County Parks and Recreation will be treating portions of the J.R. Alford and Miccosukee Greenways for fire ants through aerial distribution of granular ant bait. Due to the scheduled treatment, all greenway trailheads and entrances will be temporarily closed from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Trailheads will be reopened immediately following the completion of the treatment.
