Leon County remains committed to supporting local veterans throughout the year with services and programs offered by the Leon County Division of Veteran Services. The Division assists veterans and their dependents in securing all entitled benefits earned through their honorable military service, and advocates for veterans’ interests in the community. During the last year, the Division has helped Leon County veterans receive more than $21 million in benefits and assisted 55 veterans through the Veterans Emergency Assistance Program, a program that assists veterans with shelter, utilities, and transportation.

Since 2012, Leon County has held Operation Thank You events each year, giving the community an opportunity to thank the brave men and women who have served or continue to serve. Operation Thank You is one of the community’s largest events to show appreciation for the more than 18,000 veterans that call Leon County home.
