In February 2025, the Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame inducted its 12th class featuring 20 veterans from around the state. The veterans from Leon County who were inducted as part of the state’s 12th class will be added to the Leon County Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame plaque during a ceremony on Wednesday, October 15, at 2:30 p.m. at the Judge Augustus D. Aikens, Jr. Leon County Courthouse, 5th Floor Commission Chambers.
The two veterans to be recognized include:
- Augustus Aikens, Colonel, Florida Army National Guard (Ret)
- Charles Mohr, Colonel, U.S. Army (Ret)
The Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame was created by the Florida Legislature in 2011 to honor the military veterans of the state of Florida for their accomplishments in business, civic, political, public service, charitable, and other worthy pursuits that have impacted their fellow Floridians.
