In its ongoing efforts of promoting tourism and financially supporting events that have a history of or show potential to attract out-of-town visitors to the area, the Leon County Division of Tourism (Visit Tallahassee) grants application process for 2021-22 Signature/Emerging Signature, Special and Sports Events Grants is now open and accepting applications through July 30, 2021.
Eligible event(s) must take place between October 1, 2021 and September 30, 2022 and have the potential to generate overnight stays at local hotels or short-term lodging facilities in Leon County.
All grant applicants are required to attend one of three workshops scheduled for July 1 at 3 p.m., July 8 at 3 p.m. and July 22 at 3 p.m. The workshops will take place in-person at the Leon County Facilities Management Building located at 1907 S. Monroe St. and include an option for participants to attend virtually. A recording of the workshop will be made available on the Visit Tallahassee website. Workshops will include:
- An overview of the digital grant management platform
- FY2021-2022 funding available and event funding levels
- Updated application components
- Review process and scoring criteria
Applications are due by Friday, July 30, 2021, at 5 p.m. The Leon County Tourist Development Council (TDC) Grant Review Committee reviews and evaluates applications and submits recommendations to the TDC for approval.
