Leon County encourages you to take a break from spring cleaning and learn how to spruce up your home and property at the Leon County Spring Home Expo. The expo will be held on Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Historic Amtrak Railroad Station, 918 Railroad Ave.
 
Leon County’s semi-annual expo offers training for current and future homeowners in a variety of categories:
 
• Do It Yourself - Painting, pressure washing and roof repair
• Spring Vegetable Gardening Demonstration - How to grow healthy food at home
• Composting 101 Demonstrations - Learn how to start a home composting pile
• Better Bag Challenge - Exchange five plastic bags for a free reusable Leon County tote bag and additional door prize tickets
• Fair Housing Education
• Down Payment Purchase Assistance - up to $7.5k
• Foreclosure Prevention Assistance - up to $42k
• Getting Ahead - How The Capital Area Community Action Agency can help
• Resolving Heir Property Issues
• Mortgage Loan Information
• New Homes Available for Purchase
• 1% Interest Rate Loans for Housing Rehabilitation or Home Improvement - Find out if you're eligible
 
Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded throughout the day to attendees.
