Registration is now open for Leon County’s annual Excellence in Volunteer Management Training Series, a three-day program designed to help volunteer managers and coordinators meet national standards, build cohesive teams, and create meaningful engagement opportunities. The training runs March 25–27, 2026, at the Leon County Office of Resource Stewardship Gathering Room. Register by Friday, March 13, at LeonCountyFL.gov/VMTS.
The three-day training comprises six courses covering the essential elements of volunteer management. Participants who complete all six courses will earn the Excellence in Volunteer Management Certificate. The full series costs $150, and attendance at all sessions is required for certification.
The series is designed for volunteer coordinators, nonprofit leaders, program managers, and anyone who oversees volunteers. Participants will learn proven strategies for recruiting, retaining, and recognizing volunteers while building more efficient programs.
“The Leon County Volunteer Management Training Series strengthened my leadership skills by providing clear, actionable strategies to better communicate with and organize volunteers,” said Donnielle Ivory, Sister Friends Program Coordinator for Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition. “It’s one of the most impactful trainings I’ve attended.”
The training is led by Leon County VolunteerLEON’s experienced staff, who bring years of hands-on volunteer management and coordination expertise. Since 2004, the series has equipped more than 300 graduates with the skills to strengthen and manage volunteer programs throughout Leon County.
