Hermine Recovery Assistance Available Until Nov. 28
FEMA has announced that Monday, Nov. 28 is the last day for homeowners, renters and business owners affected by Hurricane Hermine in Leon County to register for federal disaster assistance.
Survivors who need to register for assistance or have questions regarding the application or appeals process may visit online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call by phone (voice 711 or Video Relay Service/VRS) at (800) 621-3362 (TTY users should call (800) 462-7585). The toll-free lines are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week until further notice.
Low-income survivors may be eligible for free disaster legal assistance. The legal assistance hotline at (866) 550-2929 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Those who qualify for assistance will be matched with Florida lawyers who have volunteered to provide free, limited legal help.
