The Tallahassee-Leon County Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccination Community Education and Engagement Task Force (the Task Force) presents the “Got Vaxxed? Community Connection,” a family fun day that will provide COVID-19 vaccines for everyone 5 and older, booster shots for eligible groups and educational outreach. Community members are invited to attend the event at the Old West Enrichment Center (2344 Lake Bradford Rd.) Saturday, November 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event will also include free breakfast and lunch, a step showcase by local step teams, mask decorating, live music by DJ Lil Boy, a question and answer session with health professionals to address vaccine hesitancy, and more. Community members who choose to get their first COVID-19 vaccination or booster shot will be entered to win cash prizes. Health professionals will be present to administer vaccines and address questions.
The Task Force collaborates with community and fath-based organizations like Family Worship and Praise Center and New Mount Zion to provide access to safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines in minority communities with financial support from Leon County Government and the City of Tallahassee.
