On Friday, Nov. 13, and Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020 nearly 1,300 top high school runners from across the state will compete at Leon County’s award-winning Apalachee Regional Park in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Cross-Country Championships. Anticipated to bring an economic impact of over $1 million dollars, this year’s meet marks the ninth consecutive year Apalachee Regional Park has hosted the state championships.
To protect participating athletes, coaches and essential personnel, the event operations have been redesigned to accommodate the required safety protocols and unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Leon County Division of Tourism and FHSAA are dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming environment for participants while adhering to the following mandatory participation requirements:
- Teams can bring one spectator per registered athlete
- Everyone is required to wear a face covering at the facility at all times, unless they are actively competing or have a chronic preexisting or demonstrable medical condition.
- Everyone entering the site must go through a Health Screening to check for COVID-19 symptoms, including temperature checks, before admission to the facility.

Media representatives must obtain credentials for the event by completing and submitting the Credential Request Form by Nov. 11, 2020, at 5 p.m.

Those on the official FHSAA media credential list must present a valid picture ID to receive credentials at the Media Tent.
