County Seeks Stunning Submissions for NEA Big Read Nature Photography Exhibit

Leon County Government invites residents of all ages to celebrate the beauty of Florida’s Big Bend region by submitting nature photographs for the upcoming exhibition Wild Wonders: A Photographic Journey Through Florida's Big Bend. Selected artwork will be displayed at the downtown Main Library from March 1-31, 2024, during the upcoming 2024 NEA Big Read featuring Andrew Krivak’s The Bear.
Photographers can submit up to three ready-to-hang prints highlighting the region's plants, animals, or outdoor scenes. The application deadline is Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 5 p.m. EST. Citizens may visit any library location for assistance with their online application.

The public is invited to attend an opening celebration of the exhibit during the NEA Big Read Kickoff on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. outside of the downtown Main Library.
NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. The National Endowment for the Arts Big Read is designed to broaden our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. The LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System is one of 60+ nonprofit organizations to receive a grant to host an NEA Big Read project.
