Help Those Experiencing Homelessness

Leon County is a community that cares. We're always eager to help those in need yet offering money or food to people in the middle of the road is neither safe for drivers nor pedestrians. A safer and more effective approach is to donate via BigBendCoC.org. Your contributions will be used to provide food, clothing, and shelter to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Learn Before You Burn

Escaped debris burning is one of the leading causes of wildfires in Florida. Help keep the air clean by using these alternative solutions to dispose of yard waste:

✓ Unincorporated County residents may bring yard and household waste to the nearest Rural and Solid Waste Center.
✓ Mulch leaves into garden beds, which will build soil health.
✓ Compost yard waste in your backyard or at a community compost site.
✓ Limbs cut to less than six feet can be picked up by Waste Pro’s curbside service.

Learn more about the dangers and health impacts of open burning at LeonReady.com.
