CONA, County, City to Kick-Off Neighborhood Recognition Program
and Host State of the Community Meeting
WHO: CONA, Leon County Government, and the City of TallahasseeWHAT: Annual Neighborhood Recognition Program Kick-Off & State of the Community meetingWHEN: Monday, March 27, at 5:30 p.m.WHERE: DKO Providence Community Service Center, 1908 Highland St.The Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA), Leon County Government and the City of Tallahassee will kick-off the annual Neighborhood Recognition Program and host the 2017 State of the Community meeting on Monday, March 27. The event will be held at the DKO Providence Community Service Center, 1908 Highland St., and begin at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Immediately following the kick-off, CONA will host the 2017 State of the Community meeting. County Administrator Vincent S. Long and City Manager Ricardo Fernandez will update citizens on the state of Leon County and the City of Tallahassee. Further details about how to apply for the 2017 Neighborhood and Neighbor of the Year awards will be announced at the kick-off event. The Neighborhood Recognition Program recognizes outstanding neighborhoods in three categories: Small - 200 or fewer homes; Large - more than 200 homes; and Unincorporated Area - outside the city limits. It also honors the Neighbor of the Year, which is given to an individual who exemplifies the characteristics of leadership and service in making contributions to his or her community.
