With only a few weeks left before the Neighborhood Recognition Program application deadline, the Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA), Leon County Government and the City of Tallahassee will host an informational workshop on Monday, April 18 at the LeRoy Collins Leon County Main Library, 200 W. Park Avenue at 6 p.m.
The workshop will guide interested neighborhoods and residents through the Neighborhood of the Year application process, while also highlighting winning submissions from past neighborhoods.
The Neighborhood Recognition Program, now in its 36th season, recognizes outstanding neighborhoods in three categories: Small - 200 or fewer homes; Large - more than 200 homes; and Unincorporated Area - outside the city limits. It also honors the Neighbor of the Year, which is given to an individual who exemplifies the characteristics of leadership and service in making contributions to his or her community. Additionally, CONA will be accepting nominations for its 2016 Public Servant of the Year and 2016 Business Neighbor of the Year.

The deadline for applications is, Monday, May 9, at 5 p.m.
Leon County will be accepting online Neighborhood of the Year applications and Neighbor of the Year nominations at http://www2.leoncountyfl.gov/coadmin/pio/noty.asp. Applications for the City of Tallahassee are available at Talgov.com.
