Commissioner Bryan Desloge Attends Florida County Commissioners’
White House Conference
By invitation from the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, Leon County Commissioner Bryan Desloge attended the Florida County Commissioners’ White House Conference on Thursday, July 27. The event set forth to develop working relationships between the White House and other federal agencies with the County Commissioners of Florida.
“With almost 100 County Commissioners from 40 Florida counties, we had a full and productive day at the White House,” said Leon County Commissioner Bryan Desloge. “I appreciated the opportunity to meet with representatives from many different federal agencies to discuss topics ranging from infrastructure to tax reform and more. Conferences like this one will ensure our elected officials are prepared to address issues and opportunities in the future.”
Held in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, County Commissioners from Florida met with senior-level agency officials. One of the primary goals of White House staff was to ensure County Commissioners were introduced to and put in contact with appropriate officials for each federal agency, there by strengthening the federal government’s relationship with local governments.
Speakers included Senator Marco Rubio, Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin, and DJ Gribbin, Special Assistant to the President for Infrastructure.
