City and County Open Sandbag Locations in Preparation for Severe Weather
Leon County and the City of Tallahassee continue to monitor the changing weather conditions in the Gulf of Mexico. To assist citizens, the County and City have opened the following sandbag locations:
• J. Lee Vause Park, 6024 Old Bainbridge Road
• Ranchero Road, at the intersection of Ranchero Road and Oak Ridge Road
• Tekesta Park, located at Tekesta Drive and Deer Lake Road in Killearn Lakes
• Apalachee Regional Park (Landfill), 7550 Apalachee Parkway
• James Messer Park South, 2830 Jackson Bluff Road between Mabry Street and Appleyard Drive
• Winthrop Park, 1601 Mitchell Avenue (near the tennis courts)
• Lawrence-Gregory Community Center, 1115 Dade Street
Sandbags are limited to 25 bags per household, and citizens need to bring shovels to fill bags themselves. Locations will not be staffed, but crews will monitor and provide additional sand and bags as needed. Sites will remain open until the storm has passed and officials determine sandbags are no longer needed.
During heavy rain and flooding, work crews will continue to check areas of known flooding to remove obstructions and to post warnings for drivers if needed. All drivers should use caution and not drive cars through flooded areas. All flood waters should be considered contaminated, and no children should play or swim in flood water.

Emergency Information for the City of Tallahassee
Electric Utility response crews are on standby and ready to be deployed, with extra staffing on call as needed. Outages can be reported from the homepage of Talgov.com and through the DigiTally and e+ Mobile apps. The outage reporting page on Talgov.com, DigiTally and e+ Mobile features a map that shows reported outages. City utility customers can also call 891-4YOU (4968) to report power outages.
Citizens may report flooded streets and downed trees by calling 891-4YOU (4968). Updates on official City of Tallahassee road closures can be found on Talgov.com and Twitter.com/COTTraffic .
